About the New Energy Apprenticeships Mentoring Program

The New Energy Apprenticeships Mentoring Program is funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace relations and:

• Maximises workforce retention and completion rates

• Increases diversity among Australian Apprentices undertaking a recognised Clean Energy qualification

• Connects apprentices to skilled workers and businesses in the Clean Energy industry, and

• Supports Apprentices to successfully transition into skilled tradespeople.

The Mentoring Program enhances the New Energy Apprenticeships Program which provides incentives and support to encourage more people into the New Energy sectors. The Apprenticeships Program covers 40 different occupations and offers the New Energy Apprentice Support Payment worth up to $10,000 to apprentices working or training in priority occupations. If you have chosen a clean energy occupation from the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List, you may be eligible for this government incentive.

How can we help you with mentorship?

The Australian Renewables Academy (ARA) is a New Energy Apprenticeship Mentoring Provider in Victoria and South Australia. We are committed to delivering a range of services to a consistently high professional standard to ensure New Energy apprentices will develop useful industry connections and build a career pathway to the New Energy sector, including

• Matching apprentices with an experienced industry mentor

• Ensuring apprentices will receive individualised guidance and advice on workplace, study and career challenges and opportunities.

• Providing peer support and industry based Clean Energy networking events.

• Assistance with accessing the New Energy Support Payment worth up to $10,000 over the course of your apprenticeship or any other emerging financial incentives that you might be eligible for.

Apprentices and mentors meet monthly for an hour for a minimum of 3 months
and generally up to 12 months.
